The who and what of me.
Single guy never married and hardily ever even any girlfriends, although a few lost loves that only bother me to think about and with no kids of course. I was not even at the middle of his class, graduated from high school and only industrial at that, and yet can answer questions so profound as to even answer how our universe started. And as you will see on this site some other good speculations in science too. I am self educated and have spent the required time and effort to become so. I do not drink, smoke or anything else that drains ones wealth and health. I love science and sy fi and got a whole lab in may house loaded with glassware chemicals and rare elements. Love video games too, mostly of the survival horror variety. Got myself advertised on some singles sites but most have different problems and on a few where I have to pay to reply, I have been reluctant. I get the feeling one of these services just picks addresses at random to make me think someone was interests to fool me into paying for full membership. Its was obvious most of those women have nothing in common with me so why would they email me. So if I have not replied that's probably why. In the end we may or may not really need reviewers here really badly and I will have to search the web to find one, if there are any. Sort of like the guy that rates restaurants and writes up what he thinks. Been thinking I might do that myself, as well as all this other review etc stuff I intend to do, if I cant find a decent one.
I collect artifacts mostly jades now but did some in Bronze etc and part of this site will examine all he aspects of this like how to test for fakes and what sellers on Ebay are most trustworthy etc. I started buying as investments but now am much more into gold and silver and this site will go into detail on that too. But I love this stuff and when you learn about ancient jades and why they are valuable.
But the investment that intrigues me most, becomes hard to understand why for me why so many people considering themselves sophisticated, collect a consumable older wines believing such a consumable should be considered a sophisticated investment.They might be, but just from my prospective its really strange. I just do not like the idea of an investment that's required to be consumed by a rich showoff with no brains but lots of money over a piece of history made from an ever increasingly rare material like jade meant to be preserved forever. Its as if its more important for peoples need to fool themselves into thinking they are sophisticated and willing to pay for a bottle of the finest to prove it. Very bizarre behavior to me especially with the results of some tests where people were told the wine was expensive believed it tasted better too.
In future I might like to look at the idea of making synthetic wines even if you would have all sorts of troubles to sell then to the public. To much obsession on preserving traditions on wine making to make that easy. But the science should still be good.
I think I am a bit of a roguish comic sophisticate that's not very sophisticated to look at.

The one thing school taught me is how to deal with boredom and its odd I actually like learning. I loved learning and always walked around the school yards with books on gemology or whatever else struck my interests. Bought lots of books on electronics etc etc. Its always struck me odd that I originally never thought science was interesting, in fact I did not think anything was very interesting and it was not till I saw those cheap horror movies that I even started to realize there was something there to be interested in. I remember my first interests was triggered when I saw in one of those old cheap movies where a head was put into acid and a nice shinny skull was removed. After that got interested in acids what are they what can they really do. That's the thing school should have taught me science is interesting not dull as I was led to believe. Granted I was still in elementary but still.
The school system failed me
However no improvement in education will ever occur if it threatens teacher employment. I still argue why a computer aided system is not only better but cheaper too. It could have helped save the US from its crisis as increasing efficiency is preferable to endless sacrifices. I am fairly sure they will starve themselves before they do that as too much is invested in keeping things as they are. This is not unlike the religiously obsessed as they cannot admit the chances the religion they chose is wrong, they just have too much invested in it to admit that possibility.
As illustrated in my above cartoon I really do not have much respect for belief systems of the general public and this can go in the opposite direction too as can be illustrated by asking the question does aliens exists. In the end it may even be necessary to study yourself. By trying to to hard be objective you can become very un objective very easily. Its been said that its good to have an open mind but not so open than anything can fall into it.
How bad is this all. The public is so easily led that a book called the Manufacture of Consent has been written on it and you will find in my writings here, or when I get time too add them that even the fiat currency system i.e. money that's just paper with no backing, depends on this sheeple like quality to work. Literally requiring generations of people to have died and forgotten the past for it to work for as well and long as it has. Now on the brink of collapsing and those people of old are still investing in retirement savings plans and government treasuries and bonds that are dollar denominated, that most really informed experts make fun of. But most people have worked so hard to stay dumb they just have too much invested in it to change. This was written on Aug 2 2010 so watch me be proven right.
